Sheila Jeffreys was born in the United Kingdom in 1948 and moved to Melbourne in 1991 where she worked as a professor of political science at the University of Melbourne. She’s an author of non-fiction and she focuses her work in the areas of sexual politics, international gender politics, and lesbian politics. She has written several highly acclaimed books such as Beauty and Misoginy, Gender Hurts, The Industrial Vagina: The Political Economy of the Global Sex Trade or The Lesbian Heresy: A Feminist Perspective, amongst others.

Sheila Jeffreys nació en el Reino Unido en 1948 y se trasladó a Melbourne en 1991, donde trabajó como profesora de ciencias políticas en la Universidad de Melbourne. Es autora de ensayos y centra su trabajo en las áreas de política sexual, política internacional de género y lesbianismo político. Ha escrito varios libros muy aclamados como Belleza y Misoginia, Gender Hurts, La Vagina Industrial: la Economía Política del la Industria Global del Sexo o La Heregía Lesbiana: Una Perspectiva Feminista, entre otros.
