Hoy dedicamos el programa a cuatro extraordinarias cantantes de jazz. Nos referimos a Billie Holiday (‘Lady Day’), a Ella Fitzgerald (‘The First Lady Of Song’), a Sarah Vaughan (‘The Divine One’), y a Carmen McRae (‘The Singer’s Singer’). Pero como resulta que este año se ha cumplido el centenario del nacimiento de Ella Fitzgerald, hemos querido destacarla de algún modo entre sus colegas. A lo largo del programa escucharemos varios temas de los llamados estándares del ‘Cancionero Americano’, siempre en dos versiones, y siempre una de estas estará a cargo de Ella. Atentos, porque muchas interpretaciones están extraídas de conciertos memorables, donde las cantantes también hacen gala de sus habilidades teatrales. Sin desperdicio.
